2025 MMF Fellow

Mai-Lien started learning piano at 8 and has just graduated with a Master of Music with Distinction in Piano Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium. Under the previous tutelages of Joyce Bennett (OAM) and Natasha Vlassenko (OAM), she enjoys the thrill of performing solo and chamber, passionately seeking to improve her craft.

Her orchestral debut was realised with Brisbane Symphony Orchestra playing Beethoven’s Concerto No. 1 in 2022. Recent engagements included her involvement with the Zaza Road Quartet returning to the Australian Festival of Chamber Music as the fellowship ensemble, which included the tour of the regional Queensland towns of Charters Towers, Ingham, Ayr, and James Cook University.

Additionally, she performed orchestral piano with QSO for their concert Violin Virtuoso under guest conductor Asher Fische and has worked alongside artists from Southern Cross Soloists. She currently works extensively as an accompanist and teacher.
